The widely held idea that once a man is painting say ‘targets’ or ‘crosses’ he has a corner in that particular ‘form’ or ‘image’ is absurd - unless of course it’s only a cross (X) or a target. Crucifixion (and Still Lifes) were good for 700 years - a cross and a square could last as long. It’s what you make out of the form that counts.
